DETAILS ON THE SERIES: For the past several years the Edmond Running Club has promoted the Mileage Recognition Award. This recognized Club Members for cumulative race miles, wherever they were run.
One of the increasing focuses of the Club is encouraging participation both individually and as a Club. We particularly appreciate volunteers who support us on the race course and in life.
Therefore we are changing the emphasis in 2008 from mileage to participation and volunteering. For each weekend in 2008 the ERC Board will attempt to designate a race(s) as part of the Edmond Running Club Series. Runners get five (5) points for each designated race they enter and start. Volunteers get ten (10) points for each designated race they work as registered volunteers, and five (5) points for each designated race they attend in support of an ERC runner.
NOTE: Points will be given for any distance run in the designated Race. For example, Run Short-Run Long, Beacon on the Bay, and the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon have several distances to run. Under the new format it will not matter what distance you run, as long as you participate! ALSO you can earn two (2) additional points by wearing ERC "gear" at the Race.
Awards are as follows:
- St. Bernard: 50 points of Volunteering
- Bulldog: 75 points (total Running and Volunteering)
- Husky: 100 points (total Running and Volunteering)
- Wolves: 150 points (total Running and Volunteering)
Participants will be responsible to report their participation to Clyde Stevens at 405-348-9661 or clydejstevens@aol.com.
For questions about a particular race, contact Dana Cambpell-Sternloff.
